Applied Theory and Practice

Applied Theory and Practice (PHSE 231 and PHSE 232) provides the opportunity for students to make links between theory and practice. Students enrolled in this programme are able to select a number of practical opportunities from a wide variety of experiences within the broad groups of sport, exercise and outdoor education.

Examples of these approximately 60 practicals are:  rock climbing, squash coaching, canoeing, mountain biking, road cycling, yoga, resistance training  and sports massage to name just a few. A number of these practicals allow students to gain coaching certification and industry recognition.
